Church Projects

         One of our church projects in Word of Hope Thika is the planting of Moringa Trees.  These trees are rich in viatamin A, C and calcium, as well as protein, potassium and zinc.  The leaves contain essential amino acids and also stimulate the immune system.  The moringa has anti-bacterial properties, protect the liver and kidneys and can be used as a water purifier.  Cooking oil can be produced from the moringa tree and the flowers can be used in making herbal tea. Moringa contains more than 90 nutrients and 46 types of antioxidants. Both children and adults can eat the moringa.  It is also used in porridge and bread.

                                                                WOMEN'S SELF SUPPORT CRAFT PROJECT

                                                                                          The Women's Project has been very successful.  Some of the women in the church have started a small business making and selling woven baskets.  God has blessed them to make enough funds to now be self supporting.  This project has been a blessing for them.  

                                                                        WORD OF HOPE AIDS AWARENESS PROJECT

God has blessed us to launch an Aids Awareness/Prevention Program at Word of Hope in Thika, Kenya.  In the words of Pastor Macharia,

"As a church we will be able to embrace the ones affected and inffected by HIV/AIDS through HOLISTIC reach out ministries. We will preach, teach and give understanding that there is hope and love beyond HIV/AIDS.

We shall  our join hands to reach to our brethren to reach out to others, we come across as we continue to spread the word of Christ.

The church as the custodian of good Christian morals will speak to our upcoming youths, to abstain from ills before marriage.  The church will restore values of the members as well as strengthen families and behaviour change amongst the youths.

The church will also have a concern for the plight of  HIV/AIDS orphans who will require attention.
